Miss No Good, Episode 2 summary

Look! It's Will Pan's "Playing Cool" album cover! *points*

In episode 2, Xiao Hua finally receives her "2nd" lesson for her makeover.  As always, the subsequent scenes pertaining to this are fun and entertaining...

Although the things that Tang Men teaches Xiao Hua is predictable, I still had a good laugh. One thing that I really, really wanted to happen was to see Xiao Hua...STRAIGHTEN HER HAIR. Too bad, that obviously didn't happen. Looks like we're stuck seeing this mop-hair wig afterall.

Tang Men teaches Xiao Hua manners when arriving at a restaurant.

So after going through this whole makeover session, Xiao Hua goes on a successful date with Jia Si Le as an elegant lady. But as we all know it, this relationship won't last. Tang Men even warns Xiao Hua that she's better off finding someone she truly loves. But that person will obviously be Tang "Moon" as we continue watching.

In this episode, we also saw a special appearance from singer, eVonne Hsu, in Xiao Hua's dream.

The scene foreshadows a possible "consequence" that Tang Men might have to pay later on in the series for his "poisonous tongue". I'm guessing that it's most likely an obstacle/challenge in his love relationship (duh!). Who knows...we're left hanging as Xiao Hua wakes up from her dream. Nonetheless, it was a nice cameo since it has been a long while since we've seen eVonne. I don't know how many people remember, but Will Pan was featured in one of eVonne's songs when Will just started to transition from being a VJ to a singer in 2002 (check it out!).

The pacing of this drama is so far, so good. There really isn't a character I don't like so far. They all seem to be weird-out and funny in their own way, even Xiao Hua, with her over-the-top acting and squeaky voice (which we can only hope that it'll tone down later)...hahaha...

Just for your reference, its ratings has increased from 1.6% (episode 1) to 2.52% in episode 2, which is following very close behind Hot Shot (2nd place to Invincible Shan Bo Mei).

Ahoy!!!! We're definitely back and in full-force for this drama :D

To be honest, we actually were ready earlier, but some of our keen QCers noticed
a definite loss of quality during encoding. We were trying to rectify that with different methods, but were about to give up and just release the standard file until....

...YDY decided to release their Miss No Good raw. We ended up hastily transitioning to that and now here we are today!

Notice: We've changed a couple things from our usual process (aside from looks, logos, etc...). We may have most likely broken some portable media player's compatibility. This was done to maximize image quality from conversion, so I (me) apologize in advance. Thanks!

Here's Episode 1. =D Hope you all enjoyed it!

Release notes by fufu:

In episode 1, you'll see that the variety show that Tang Men is on is a spoof of the actual very popular, successful, and long running variety show, "Queen".  Like what you find out in Miss No Good, the variety show is oriented towards talk of fashion and cosmetics (and makeovers!).

Lan Xin Mei - Host of "Queen"

The regular cast of the show consisted of 3 main stylists: Kevin (make up), Tony (hair dresser), Niu Er (make up).  The course of the show soon headed towards "special projects" like battle between stylists to see who can give female stars the best makeover.  Similar to what is happening to Tang Men, new stylists were added to the show.  In Tang Men's case, a new stylist is being added to the show to boost ratings.  On Queen, new stylists were added to alleviate the workload on the 3 stylists (due to other jobs outside of the show).

Kevin - helping model, Liz, apply make up. Kevin now has his own cosmetic brand, BeautyMaker.

Rare special guests also go on the show...

Wu Zun - putting lip gloss on Lan Xin Mei.

Miss No Good, Episode 1 summary

>> Monday, September 08, 2008

From our co-ordinator previous post, I presumed that you guys would have known that we have taken a new project, Miss No Good. So, I’m here to do the honour of writing a short summary as well as giving my opinion about the first episode. :D

*Warning: Spoilers in the summary! Read at your own risk!*

The first episode was just a general introduction of the characters in the drama. Our main girl, Xiao Hua (Rainie Yang) is a very unladylike and loud girl (Yes, very loud!!!). One piece of advice, make sure you don’t put your volume too high while watching this episode. She’s practically screeching in every line. I thought I was going deaf. Besides that, she has no fashion sense at all. Her clothes and accessories were mismatched and she was known as “A Christmas Tree” by the fashion guru, Tang Men. (Will Pan) Honestly, she really looks hideous!

My favourite part was the part where Jia Si Le (Dean Fujioka) came out to greet his guest in his welcome party. My first reaction was: “This guy is so hot!!!!” I’m not kidding, look at the screen cap! :D

One thing really good about this drama is it’s full of good looking guys! Even Tang Men’s assistant and Xiao Hua’s classmate are both quite good looking. Lots of drooling to do! Hahahaha!!!!!! Anyway, back to our Si Le, he used to be a fat and chubby boy. Suddenly he came back as the man with the perfect size and looks most women will die for. Xiao Hua, who was his childhood sweetheart, was practically swept away by him. Who can blame her for that? If I’m in her shoes, I will probably had the same reaction. ;D

Si Le made it really obvious that he is going to court Xiao Hua and of course our heroine will be too happy to accept it. Unfortunately, after falling into the swimming pool at the party, she realised that she is not suitable to be with him. She is too rough and loud to be with a person of high status like Si Le. So she seeks for Tang Men’s help to change her into a fashionable and a proper lady. Tang Men is a very popular fashion guru but with an arrogant character. His first encounter with Xiao Hua did not turn out well and he refused to help at first but was blackmailed to help her or Xiao Hua will throw his set of precious scissors (made from Italy!) away.

As much as I like to see Si Le ended up with Xiao Hua, but I’m afraid that it is very unlikely to happen. It’s going to be Tang Men and Xiao Hua as they embark on their journey together to make Xiao Hua a proper and sophisticated lady. Anyway, I think I have rambled too much. :p Enjoy Episode 1! =D
